End of term 2
After a busy few months, the students of Arklow FETC a preparing for the end of term 2 and the Easter holidays. For some the break starts today, while our busy Youthreach staff and students have a bit to go.
Term two has proven challenging for a number of reasons for staff and students. The move to fully online delivery on January 6th, presented so many challenges, for assessment and commencement of new students, some of who have never seen the inside o the centre! It has been an amazing learning journey for students engaging with online assessment, virtual interviews and online presentations. Students have had great insight into how the world of work has adapted to changes brought around by Covid-19.
As a centre we are busy planning for the next intake of students in April and again in September. Setting up courses, preparing resources and hoping that we will be back in the centre soon. The skills we are developing and that our students are developing will not be lost and we will continue to grow our skills to meet the needs of a changing workplace environment, so that we can share them with our students into the future.
For those switching off today, we hope you have a lovely break and that you will get some time away from your screens. For our Youthreach students, working both at home and in the centre “holidays are coming!”. Once we return on the 12th of April time until the end of the year will pass quickly, we hope we will be one step closer to a sustained return to the Centre.
